My Journey To Come

As I am sitting here looking out the window at the dreary weather, I think to myself 1 week and I will be on my way to Thailand. I hope that this trip will be the start of something special. I want the fluid experience of flowing where my experiences take me. The escape but more so the life knowledge that I can gain from having these experiences. I am well aware that I am not a poetic writer or even good at grammar but I want to have a record of what transpires along the way. If I am the only one who will ever read this I will be fine with that. This will be my account of my time and my journey. I plan to write everyday, while some days it may be in a journal that will get put up later or sitting in the airport surrounded by WiFi, cellphones, laptops and the lot, either way the story will be told.

Alright now more about the trip, When I land in Bangkok it will be 11:30 at night on the 22nd (if the flight is on time) and I will be heading to Khao San Road. I don't have a guesthouse booked nor do I know what I will do on my first night there. I have never done an international flight before so I cant say I know what to expect when I do land, will I be so tired I don't want to move, will I be rested, or will I be so full of adrenaline that it doesn't matter and ill be ready to go. I hope its the latter. The next night I will be heading off to Koh Samui on the night train. For this portion I will be traveling with some new friends that I met on travelfish.org. We are taking the night train down to Suratthani, from which we will take a bus to the port and make our way via ferry to Koh Samui. Now I am heading  to Koh Samui with no reservations till I head to Koh Phangan on the 29th for the Full Moon Party (FMP gets very busy and usually requires a reservation on New Years). That is 1 week on plans that can be changed at any moment, not just change hostels or guesthouses but change cities or entire islands. I want to feel free and not tied down to anything. I don't know my plans for after and I don't know what will come all I do know is that opportunities and experiences will be abound.

Signing off for now,
Aaron

Time slows

Alright so it is 9 days and change till my plane takes off. I have packed everything I think I will need. There are a few last minute things I need but I already have most things ready to go. Once I get my final pack together I will post my packing list on the blog. One thing I have noticed is that I am antsy and having trouble thinking of anything but this trip. I am so excited, this is going to be a long few days till my finals are done and I'm in the air on my way to Thailand.

I will be leaving on December 21st 2011 and landing on December 22nd 2011. For this trip I have 2 layovers. The first is in Portland, OR and the second is Narita Airport in Tokyo Japan. I have never been to either of these places so I am even excited to visit these airports. I wish I had more time in each city but I cant complain since my final destination will be Bangkok.

So at this point I am going to sign off.
To post another day,
-Aaron

The beginning

Hi Everyone,

This is my first blog. I started it because I will be going to Thailand for 24 days and I hope to blog as much as I can. As of now the internet may not be accessible in all locations over there so my plan is to write in a travel journal and update the blog when I can. I leave on Dec 21st 2011. That 3 weeks to get ready for the trip. For now I'm going to sign off but I will update more to follow.

Thanks for listening,
Aaron
